When we asked our community at The School of Creative Magic about their relationship with creativity, magic and meaning, what we heard was clear.

We will DISCOVER creative magic that is real, personal, and powerful.
We will treat creativity as a SACRED practice available to everyone, not just a chosen few.
We will explore what it means to live a life that’s LUMINOUS & TRUE, not for the promise of fame, money or glory but for the JOY of a life well-lived with tea mugs and journals and half-finished paintings on the kitchen table.
We will invite MYSTERY into the mundane, RHYTHM into the regular, and INSIGHT into our days.
Through our shared experience, we will remember that we don’t have to do it alone. We will recover and renew our connection to creative magic — one conversation, one story, one creation at a time.

CREATIVITY AS A MAGICAL PRACTICE
What if making art is one of the most powerful ways we make magic? We'll explore how all creative acts — from painting to poetry to cooking to collage — open portals to intuition, insight, and transformation.
RECLAIM CREATIVE MAGIC, RECLAIM OURSELVES
So many of us were taught to doubt our own magic and our ability to create - our art, our story, our life. We’ll talk about the journey of remembering who we are, what we love, and what it means to reclaim our creative power.
BEFRIENDING THE MYSTERY
Living a creative and magical life means being in relationship with the unknown. Together, we’ll explore how to lean into mystery with curiosity, with courage and with trust in our ability to dance with what can’t be seen or planned.
RITUAL & RHYTHM
From the wheel of the year to the phases of the moon to the flow of our own creative cycles, we'll explore how aligning with natural rhythms can deepen our work and our lives, bringing a sense of rootedness, clarity and connection.
THE ART OF EVERYDAY MAGIC
Neither art nor magic has to be grand or elaborate. Sometimes it’s a card pull, a whisper in the trees, a journal page at dawn. We’ll explore how everyday moments can be enchanted and how tuning into them changes everything.
THE SOLITARY & THE CIRCLE
Creative magic can be deeply personal but it’s also something we can share. We'll talk about the dance between solitude and community, and how we each find our unique balance between private practice and collective expression.

As an adult, my return to magic began with a simple practice. Every morning, no matter the weather, no matter what time I woke up, I would step out into the backyard and greet The Sun. Little by little I came to feel that connection in my bones - his absence, his presence, his touch on my shoulders.
It took me back to being a little girl, free and barefoot in the grass, climbing the willow tree out back, watching pollywogs transform into toads in my neighbour's backyard bucket, walking down the street with 'imaginary' animal friends.
Nobody told me the world was magical. I just knew.
THAT IS WHY I AM HOSTING MAGIC IN THE MAKING.
Choosing to follow a path of creative magic has been the most freeing and fulfilling decision of my life. Even though the road was paved to the 'real world', even though I was a sensitive 'good girl' and even though I often didn't know the way, here I am, far from the beaten path and at home in my life.

I've been a creative coach for over 20 years. I’ve interviewed hundreds of phenomenal creatives on the popular Creative Living with Jamie podcast. Now, as the the founder of The School of Creative Magic, I am hosting the Magic in the Making symposium to provide a space of exploration and wonder so that we can unlock the magic within our making.

Samar Jade (they/them) is a Black, fat, disabled and gender expansive creative writer and the Ensoulment Doula. Samar's writing centers the experiences of being born and raised in the Deep Gothic South. Their poetry has been published by Pile Press, Kentucky Monthly, among others. Blue Violet: Haint Spaces is their debut full length poetry collection that will hit the press November 2025 with Finishing Line Press. When Samar isn’t writing or ferrying others in their underworld journeys, they enjoy spending time with their partner and two feral human children. -

AUTHOR, ASTROLOGER
& TEACHERBritten LaRue, M.A. spends much of her time speaking and writing as a teacher, author, and public astrologer. Britten’s deepest calling is to be a midwife for those in the process of birthing their own inner knowing, healing from shame, and learning to trust themselves again with the reckless freedom they deserve. Britten is the author of Living Astrology: How to Weave the Wisdom of All 12 Signs into Your Everyday Life, published in 2024.

& MENTORAndrea is an artist and mentor to artists, healers, coaches, therapists, activists and visionaries. She is here to hold space for your creative dreams. She has a Bachelor of Applied Arts in Fashion Design from Toronto University and has been an officially accredited spiritual counsellor (which means 3 years of training + 1 year interning). She started creating her own courses and workshops, combining creative journaling with meditation and healing circles in 2008 in Winnipeg, Canada. In 2011 she moved her work online and founded the Creative Dream Incubator.

WRITER & RESEARCHERMariola Rosario (she/her) is an artist, astrologer, teacher, and independent researcher from Puerto Rico, currently based in Paris, France. She explores visual and material culture in relation to terrestrial and celestial practices and mythologies, tracing how images, objects, and language shape cultural memory, origins, and political imaginaries. She is committed to co-creating anti-extractive spaces of learning and mutual aid that honor both the magical and the material conditions of our time. Mariola also writes on Substack, where she shares reflections on myth, art, monstrosity, and the magic of language.
